Posted on in Cycles News

Rediscovery CentreDublin, Ireland: The Rediscovery Centre, the National Centre for the Circular Economy in Ireland, today announced its partnership with Cytech, the internationally recognised training and accreditation scheme for bicycle technicians.

Through this partnership the Rediscovery Centre will provide Cytech’s world-class training and accreditation scheme to current and aspiring bicycle technicians within the Irish Market.

“The Rediscovery Centre is thrilled to partner with Cytech to provide their internationally recognised training and accreditation scheme for bicycle technicians.
With increased focus on the promotion of active travel, it is vital that we have a skilled workforce to maintain the bicycles on our roads, and make the most of the resources we already have available to us. This partnership will enable Rediscovery Centre to continue to exemplify excellence and best practice in bike reconditioning and in the delivery of accredited training for bicycle technicians.” says Sarah Miller, Chief Executive of the Rediscovery Centre.

The Rediscovery Centre is now one of only seven high-end Cytech training providers around the world. They join prestigious training companies from Australia, South Africa, Canada, Scotland and England, and are extremely proud to be bringing this offering to Ireland.

ACT logoJonathan Harrison, on behalf of the Association of Cycling Traders (ACT) said “Opening a dedicated training centre in Ireland is a crucial step for Cytech in the European market and finding the right partner was key. We feel that our new partnership with the Rediscovery Centre is the perfect fit and we’re looking forward to working together to continue developing Cytech in Ireland, Europe and internationally. We’re extremely pleased to be able to offer the Irish bike trade Cytech courses in Ireland which we know will be welcome news.

Rediscovery Centre’s environmental ethos is particularly relevant today in a world where resources are becoming more scarce and we believe our relationship with them will help create a strong workforce of bicycle technicians with the skills to future proof the industry.

Cytech courses and raising the standards of bicycle mechanics worldwide provides the best way to deliver cycle mechanics qualifications within the industry.”

Since being developed over 30 years ago, over 25,000 Cytech technical training courses have been delivered to candidates including staff working for some of the world's leading bicycle distributors. Cytech courses encompass the basics of cycle mechanics right through to dealing with the most advanced and high-tech components and parts.
