E-Bike Positive shortlisted for BikeBiz Award

The Association of Cycle Traders (ACT) and the Bicycle Association (BA) are delighted to announce that the E-Bike Positive campaign has been shortlisted in the Cycle Advocacy category at the 2026 BikeBiz Awards.

BikeBiz Awards FinalistThe nomination recognises the collaborative industry initiative, launched in July, which helps consumers identify safe, legal and responsibly supplied e-bikes while supporting retailers and brands committed to best practice.

Co-managed by the ACT and the BA, E-Bike Positive promotes road-legal e-bikes as a safe, economical and healthy mode of transport, while educating consumers about the risks associated with aftermarket lithium-ion batteries, chargers and conversion kits.

Research commissioned at the launch of the campaign found that 84% of Britons admit they couldn’t distinguish a road-legal e-bike from an illegally modified one, highlighting the need for trusted guidance and greater confidence.

The E-Bike Positive Trust Mark enables approved retailers and brands to demonstrate their commitment to selling and servicing only road-legal e-bikes in line with manufacturer guidance. Consumers can also use the online directory to find approved retailers and brands they can trust.

Since its launch, the campaign has attracted a growing number of retailers and brands that have sign the E-Bike Positive commitment, demonstrating a shared dedication to responsible retailing and improving consumer confidence in the e-bike market.

Being shortlisted for a BikeBiz Award is welcome recognition of the industry's collective efforts to champion safe, legal e-bikes and ensure consumers have the information they need to make informed purchasing decisions.
