Fetch Insurance withdraws from the marketplace

Posted on in Cycles News

In 2014 ACT teamed up with insurance specialists Butterworth Spengler to create the bicycle insurance product, Fetch.

The product was launched specifically for the independent cycle retailer to aid customer retention and to give retailers commission on each policy sold. However, as the number of bicycle insurance products available in the marketplace continues to grow, the market is becoming highly saturated which means operating Fetch is no longer viable for the ACT.

Butterworth Spengler have been specialists in bicycle insurance for over 25 years, providing bespoke schemes to CTC, London Cycling Campaign and Sustrans. They also provide policies for all cyclists via their CycleSure product. From 6th January, Fetch Insurance policies will no longer be available and anyone seeking a Fetch insurance policy will instead be directed to get a quote from CycleSure which offers the same great cover.

Butterworth Spengler are currently reviewing their CycleSure policy against the competition and plan to release a new version of the policy with better cover and revised pricing from 1st February.

To avoid any confusion for your customers, retailers who display Fetch icons or web banners online should remove these. Fetch in-store POS should also cease to be distributed to your customers. Online and web POS materials are no longer available to download or purchase.

Please note that your customers are still covered if they have purchased a Fetch policy. All policies sold via Fetch Insurance will remain valid until the next point of renewal.

Any commission earned over the last year will be honoured and credited to your account and offset against your invoice at the next point of renewing your subscription.
