Better Bike Social, a festival of cycling that will include a range of talks, workshops, and weekend rides, is coming to Brighton next month.
The festival, which ran for the first time in January in Hackney, North London, aims to celebrate the many ways in which ‘Bikes Make Life Better’. It provides an opportunity to bring a broad community of people together to exchange passions, interests, knowledge and experience across a spectrum of bicycle related themes.
There will be three evenings of talks from local bike-curious folk, covering topics ranging from ‘Kidical Mass’, cargo bikes, charity rides, art, activism, women of colour in cycling and the world naked bike ride. Then, at the weekend, there will be a series of group rides catering to a range of groups and abilities. There will be a 60km Business Leaders’ Ride, a 25km Women’s Picnic and a 70km Mental Health Ride, with two more yet to be announced.
The talks will be 10th, 11th, and 12th July from 6.30PM, and will be hosted at Propellernet, Castle Square House Brighton BN1 1EG. The group rides are on 13th and 14th July, with various start times, and meeting places.
Food at events will be sponsored by three local sustainable food businesses, Purezza Pizzas, Happy Maki Sushi and Smorl’s houmous and falafel cafe and catering.
Tickets are free, and you can register via the Better Bike Instagram profile or via their website here.
