Cycling Weekly names its best bike helmets for road cyclists

Leading magazine Cycling Weekly has put dozens of helmets to the test and has rounded up what it thinks are the best of the bunch right.
In its review, the publication says that all helmets sold in the UK, USA and Europe must pass stringent safety tests before they can be put on the market:
“However, recent technological advancements mean that many helmets offer extra systems that provide even greater protection. MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System), for example, is designed to prevent damage caused by oblique or glancing blows that rotate the skull around the brain.”
Safety, it says, isn’t the only consideration, reminding readers of the need to consider weight, aerodynamics and ventilation, advising readers you to think carefully about how, where and when they are going to use the helmet. They also recommend trying a few options on to see which suits head shape and size.
Named as Best Overall was the Giro Eclipse Spherical bike helmet; the Rapha + POC Ventral Lite bike helmet named as Best Lightweight helmet, and the Giro Aether MIPS bike helmet as the Best All-Rounder.
