health and safetyEast Sussex Trading Standards are working with their partners in the Fire Service and Environmental Health and widely through the Business Advice and Support Partnership to supply e-learning for businesses.

East Sussex Trading Standards are excited to announce the introduction of Trading Standards legislation low cost e-learning for businesses.

E-learning courses include:

  • Health and Safety
  • Trading Standards and Consumer Law
  • Business Safety Legislation
  • Introduction to Business Fire Safety

 

Health and Safety

These e-learning courses cover an overview of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), fire safety procedures, first aid, health and safety in the workplace, manual handling in the workplace, moving loads by lifting and slinging and risk assessment on the site and at work.

Trading Standards and Consumer Law

Trading standards and consumer law covers consumer contracts - distance sales and how they can affect your business, the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the prevention of underage sales, storing and selling firework safely and legally, trading fairly and consumer contracts - off-premises sales.

Business Safety Legislation

The Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005 took effect on 1st October 2006.

The legislation is there is simplify the old fire safety legislation, providing a risk-based approach to fire safety enabling a more efficient effective enforcement by the Fire and Rescue Service.

The core of the legislation is the Fire Risk Assessment, an organised appraisal for businesses to identify potential fire hazards.

This is a half day course containing information and guidance there to help businesses manage their fire safety requirements.

This course provides insight into the Fire Safety Order, Fire Risk Assessment and Fire Prevention.

This course is designed for small and medium sized businesses and employers who own or manage a business premise.
