survey Social media has become a massive part of business marketing to improve brand loyalty, engage with consumers and build stronger consumer relationships.

Social media has become a tool to set a business apart from its competition by highlighting its niche.

The latest social media statistics suggest that there are 3.484 billion active users around the world presenting 45% of the world's population. In the UK, there are now 45 million social media users equating to 67% of the entire population. Of this social media population, 39 million are mobile social media users.

Facebook remains the dominant social media platform with 78%using Facebook.

Instagram has an estimated 24 million users in the UK, 42% of the UK's population.

Twitter has a reach of 13.6 million people representing 24% of the UK's population.
