Government Launches 'Together for our Planet' to encourage SMEs to cut emissions

Posted on in Business News , Cycles News

The zero-wasteTogether for our Planet campaign encourages small businesses to pledge to cut their emissions to net zero by 2050 or sooner, while helping them grow, adapt and seize new opportunities.

The Prime Minister has launched a new ‘Together for our Planet' campaign, encouraging small businesses to reduce their emissions to contribute towards the Government's target to reach net zero emissions by 2050. The campaign urges small businesses to commit to cutting their emissions by half by 2030 through a new UK Business Climate Hub. The Hub also provides free advice on understanding business emissions and developing plans to reduce them. These measures include improving the energy efficiency of buildings, installing smart meters and offsetting carbon which can't be reduced.

The SME Climate Commitment

The SME Climate Commitment recognises that climate change poses a threat to the economy, nature and society-at-large, our company commits to take action immediately in order to:

  1. Halve our greenhouse gas emissions before 2030
  2. Achieve net zero emissions before 2050
  3. Disclose our progress on a yearly basis

In doing so, we are proud to be recognised by the United Nations Race to Zero campaign, and join governments, businesses, cities, regions, and universities around the world that share the same mission.
