Job Description

Cycle Systems Academy is a longstanding and respected cycle maintenance training provider who has been delivering short courses and Government accredited qualifications since 2009. Currently based on the edge of Dartmoor National Park in South Devon, we are recruiting a full time lead instructor/assessor to join our team. This is a managerial role, and a high level of self-responsibility and work ethic is needed.

Key responsibilities:

  • Day to day teaching of core curriculum in a timely fashion, ensuring all outcomes are met by students
  • Assessing qualifications and impeccably maintaining awarding body paperwork
  • Managing student experiences whilst on site
  • Repair teaching and demo stock when needed
  • Stock ordering and management
  • Adhering to all admin and management systems
  • Overseeing the cleaning and tidying of space

Salary:  £27-33k per annum (plus performance bonus)

Skills/Experience Required

We are looking for someone to join our company who would thrive in a responsible position, and who also shares our passion for cycle tech. You must have at least a decade of professional bicycle workshop experience. Applicant must also thrive in a teaching environment, be a friendly and clear communicator, be exceptionally well organised and reliable, and able to adhere to systems already in place. An entertaining streak is also a plus.

Ideally, you will also be qualified to a Level 3 in Bicycle Maintenance and Repair, and to a Level 3 in Teaching and Assessing. However, experience also counts and teaching/assessment qualifications can be undertaken once in the position.
