Job Description

Fancy joining our dynamic and fast-growing team? If you are passionate about cycles, riding and everything in between, then this could be a perfect match! Previous experience working within the cycle industry with excellent communication and customer service skills are essential to this role.

What is the role?

We are currently looking for an experienced, committed, fully competent cycle technician to join our team on a full-time basis. Part-time roles may be considered for suitable candidates. Technician roles are available in both our Huddersfield and Penistone stores. The ideal candidate would be able to work at both stores however we can be flexible for the right person.

The main responsibilities for this role include:

  • Bike diagnostics, maintenance and repairs
  • Sales of service packages, parts and accessories
  • Having a tip top product knowledge
  • Ensuring our customers are always happy
  • Assembly and pre-delivery inspection of new bikes
  • Working with suspension and hydraulic systems
  • Product demonstrations where necessary
  • Helping to keep the shop and work areas spick and span
  • Responsible for daily opening and closing of retail premises as required
  • Administrative duties including booking of repairs and warranties
  • Opportunity to take part in or lead Cycle Works Yorkshire group rides
  • Promoting Cycle Works Yorkshire at cycle events and shows
  • Working to support reduction of our carbon footprint

About you:

  • We are looking for someone who is not only good with a spanner, but the whole package who can really contribute to our thriving business
  • Passionate about cycling
  • Good knowledge of cycle products and the industry
  • You must have excellent communication skills and understand the importance of great customer service
  • You must work well under pressure and enjoy working as part of a small team
  • Comfortable using online technology in the job
  • Must be available to work weekends and part of a rota/shift work schedule
  • You may be required, on occasion, to work across both our Penistone and Huddersfield stores and flexibility on this is required

Skills/Experience Required

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Cytech qualification (desirable)
  • At least two years’ experience in cycle maintenance (essential)
  • Previous customer sales/service experience (preferably in the cycle industry)
