Job Description

About Us
Wicked Bikes is a busy bicycle workshop and retail space based at Hackney Bridge, a lively canalside destination surrounded by cafés, restaurants and creative businesses.
We are a small and friendly team of riders and mechanics who enjoy what we do and take pride in offering reliable, high-quality service to our local cycling community.

The Role
We are looking for an experienced and confident Workshop Manager to join our team full-time.

This role suits someone with strong mechanical skills who also enjoys coordinating daily workshop activities. While you will continue to carry out repairs and technical work, your main focus will be organising the workflow, scheduling jobs, and allocating tasks to the mechanics to ensure the workshop runs smoothly.

You will be the first point of contact for customers, providing a friendly, professional experience and clear communication regarding repairs, timelines, and solutions. A strong customer service background and a customer-oriented approach are essential.

You will work within an established and supportive team environment, where experience, reliability, and good communication are highly valued

Main Responsibilities

  • Be the primary front-of-house contact for customers, delivering an excellent, friendly, and professional customer experience

  • Manage customer bookings, job intake, timelines, and payments

  • Coordinate the daily workflow of the workshop, prioritising jobs and allocating tasks to the mechanics

  • Oversee day-to-day workshop organisation, including stock control and parts availability

  • Carry out minor repairs and quality control checks, supporting the team when needed

  • Handle the sale of bicycles and accessories, and manage the bike rental service

  • Maintain a tidy, safe, and efficient workshop and customer-facing environment

Skills/Experience Required

About You

  • A Minimum of 5 years experience working in a professional bike workshop

  • Strong customer service skills, with confidence dealing directly with customers face to face

  • Comfortable coordinating workloads and helping organise a small team in a busy environment

  • Good communication skills and a collaborative, practical attitude

  • Able to work independently, prioritise tasks, and keep things running smoothly

  • Confident working on all common types of bicycles

  • Cytech Level 2 or 3 qualification (preferred but not essential)

  • Willing to work some weekends on a rota basis

What We Offer

  • Full-time position (40 hours per week)

  • Starting salary from £31,000 per year

  • 28 days paid holiday

  • Staff discounts

  • Free or discounted food and drinks from nearby venues

  • A relaxed, respectful workplace with a good atmosphere
