Winter Wheelers - The Cycling Advent Calendar for Grownups!

Posted on in Cycles News

Help get more people on bikes... and into your shop!

Love to Ride run quarterly events to get more people on bikes. They've just shared this short video of Heather Baker from Saddles & Paddles in Exeter talking about how working with Love to Ride has benefitted her shop and the local cycling community.

They're giving away £1,600 of local bike shop vouchers to people who register for Winter Wheelers by Wednesday 27 November, then a further £1,250 during December. Last year they put over £40,000 into the tills of independent bike shops and you can make it more likely that future prize money heads your way by registering and inviting your customers to join in at lovetoride.net

Winter Wheelers - The Cycling Advent Calendar for Grownups!

December might not seem like the best time to ride a bike but, with the right gear and guidance, it can be great fun and hugely rewarding. If you're a new or occasional cyclist, Love to Ride's cycling advent calendar for grown-ups, Winter Wheelers, aims to help you try riding in December. If you're already an all-weather rider, it will help motivate you to keep riding right through winter with daily giveaways, tips, advice and encouragement.

Love to Ride have teamed up with three leading brands to offer the three winter cycling ‘must-haves': lights, gloves and hi-viz. There are daily draws and registrants are invited to log their rides by 3pm the following day, with the winner announced between 5 and 6pm. So everyone who rides a bike on Sunday 1 December and records it on lovetoride.net by 3pm on the 2nd will go into the draw for a pair of Loffi gloves (waterproof and designed to foster positive communication on the road). Everyone who rides on the 2nd could win a Proviz bundle (the best hi-viz in the business) and people who record a ride for the 3rd could win a Beryl Laserlight.

Every Wednesday Love to Ride will be giving away a brand new bike courtesy of the fourth headline sponsor, Cyclescheme. Log a ride to work every Wednesday to make sure you're in the draw!

Everyone who takes part will also receive a discount code for the online shop of each of our headline sponsor brands and we will have extra giveaways for great photos, stories and videos shared on our site or social media.

So saddle up and help us celebrate winter cycling this December - with over £10,000's worth of prizes up for grabs, you could be a Winter Wheelers winner!

You can take part in Winter Wheelers - by following 3 easy steps:

1. Register at lovetoride.net
2. Join your company or invite your workplace and/or cycling club to register
3. Log rides manually in December or connect your favourite cycling app (Strava or MapMyRide) Your rides will be recorded automatically and it will sync your last 30 days of riding!
You can also get involved via social media by sharing pictures, rides and stories using the hashtag #WinterWheelers (spot prizes will be awarded for outstanding posts!).

Love to Ride enables members to set goals, track distance, earn badges, share photos and stories and encourage others to ride, as well as allowing workplaces to incentivise their staff to ride and monitor cycling participation at their sites.

Bonus earlybird promotion!

Register for Winter Wheelers before the 27th of November and you could win a local bike shop voucher to get your bike serviced for December - keep an eye on your inbox and social media to find out more!
