VOLT e-bikes announces partnership with TFL for new scrappage scheme

Posted on in Business News , Cycles News by VoltÖ

January 30th, London: VOLT e-bikes today announces it is partnering with TFL for the ULEZ scrappage scheme to help eligible riders join the e-bike revolution. VOLT is offering exclusive purchase discounts this month alongside free test rides for all consumers and businesses from its London Bridge showroom.

The £110M City-Hall funded vehicle scrappage scheme is the capital’s first scrappage funding and will play a significant role in ensuring small businesses, charities, disabled people, and those on low incomes are prepared ahead of the ULEZ expansion later this year.

Charities and businesses with fewer than 10 employees can apply to scrap a van (£5,000 grant) or a minibus (£7,000 grant). Londoners receiving certain benefits will be able to apply for cash grants of up to £2,000 to scrap their non-compliant vehicles and make the switch to more sustainable transport, like e-bikes.

The partnership forms part of VOLT’s drive to improve access to sustainable transport solutions across London and the UK. With exclusive flexible purchasing options available through interest free finance and as existing members of the government’s cycle to work scheme, there has never been a better time to make the switch to electric bikes.

Whether an amateur or expert cyclist there is a VOLT e-bike suitable for every rider. Anyone interested in the scheme can come down to VOLT’s showroom in London Bridge and test the wide variety of available VOLT e-bikes to see which model best suits their needs, as well as discuss potential purchase options available.

This news follows recent partnerships with the NHS and Deliveroo, as VOLT seeks to continue to support businesses with sustainable transport solutions, such as fleet services.

VOLT Founder James Metcalfe said: “VOLT wants to ensure that the transition to sustainable transport is as seamless as possible by driving forward accessibility for consumers and businesses. This partnership with TFL will enable eligible parties to receive financial incentives as they make the switch from non-compliant vehicles to sustainable transport solutions.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan said: “The health of Londoners must come first and I know that expanding the ULEZ London-wide, alongside this £110m scrappage scheme, will help us to continue building a greener, fairer and healthier London for everyone”
