UK training providers suspend Cytech training courses amid coronavirus outbreak

Posted on in Cycles News

Both training providers in the UK, Activate Cycle Academy and PJCS, have decided to stop delivering Cytech courses for the forseeable future amid concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

Official statement from Activate Cycle Academy:

Activate Cycle Academy, Part of Activate Learning

Given the unprecedented current situation with regards to the coronavirus outbreak, and following on from the latest UK governmental decision to close all school and college campuses from Friday 20th March 2020, we are temporarily closing our Cytech training workshops with immediate effect until further notice.

The health, safety and wellbeing of all our learners, staff and wider community is of the highest priority as is our underlying responsibility to try and ease the impact that is inevitably going to happen to our beloved NHS.

Due to the uncertain nature and possible longevity of this closure, we will not be publishing any future Cytech course dates at this time. Anyone with an immediate booking and who is directly affected by this temporary closure will be contacted this coming week.

As soon as we know it’s safe to re-open our workshops, the new course dates will be made available again on our website (although priority will be given to those who are having to re-schedule their current, disrupted bookings).

The delivery of our cycle maintenance apprenticeships training is more workplace based, so is currently less affected by our workshop closures - wherever possible, and with all precautions we are able to take – we aim to provide and maintain the same levels of service and support to our Apprentices and Employers as we normally do. Where possible face-to-face visits will be replaced with remote/online visits in order to ensure everyone’s safety and to limit social contact as per government advice. The Activate Cycle Academy training team will be contacting all apprentices to explain these new practices as soon as we can.

Please refer to our website and social media channels for updates on re-opening. If you have any questions or would like to reserve a place on a future Cytech course, please feel free to contact us on 01865 550324 or cycles@activatelearning.ac.uk.

We would like to thank you for your co-operation and understanding in this matter during these very difficult and challenging times and look forward to welcoming you back to our Cytech workshops as soon as it’s appropriate to do so.

Stay safe, look after yourselves and your loved ones.

Best wishes and kind regards,

The Activate Cycle Academy Team

PJCS

PJCS has also decided to follow suit in light of the developments over the last few days, until the end of May at the earliest. All bookings will be contacted to arrange rescheduling.
