Local Authorities are being provided with the resources to fix potholes, but is this enough?
Posted on in Cycles News
Chancellor Philip Hammond announced an extra £420 million to be invested into fixing potholes.
With one in five roads classified as "structurally poor", the government has made the decision to provide local authorities with the resources and support to maintain the roads properly.
People are not cycling due to concerns around road safety, with the government getting involved and taking a step in the right direction more and more people will start cycling. This is instrumental towards the environment and its safety as well as personal health and fitness.
However this is not enough.
Cycling, even today, still remains attractive to a small segment of society in the UK and this is where delivery of a real change is needed. We want to take the appeal of cycling and tailor it uniquely to the general public.
