The ACT will bring independent bike dealers together for a retailer panel at Cycling Industry News Live (CIN Live) 2026, with the IBD Retail Reality Check set to examine the realities of running a cycle retail business in today’s market.

Hosted by Leon Mepham from the ACT, the seminar will provide a candid and practical discussion on how independent retailers are adapting to changing consumer behaviour, improving profitability and identifying new opportunities for growth.

Panellists will share their first-hand experiences of the current retail environment, with the discussion focusing on the key challenges and opportunities facing independent bike dealers.

The session will also explore the role initiatives such as E-Bike Positive can play in building consumer confidence and supporting the sustainable growth of the e-bike market, an area where the ACT and Bicycle Association are working to improve public understanding of safe, legal e-bikes.

The retailer-led format follows the popular panel discussion at CIN Live 2025, which provided a platform for forthright views and debate on the issues affecting the bike trade.

The seminar forms part of a wider programme of panels, talks and practical sessions at CIN Live 2026, which has been expanded to twice the size of its 2025 debut and will bring together retailers, workshops, mobile mechanics, distributors, importers, brands and service providers.

CIN’s latest market data found that 38% of bike shops and workshops consider seminars with invited professionals an important reason to attend trade shows, alongside opportunities to speak directly with brand managers and see new products.

The event will also give retailers the opportunity to explore new products, meet distributors and brands, review changing supply arrangements and develop new business relationships, with the show’s wider seminar programme covering education, training, market data and industry debate.

CIN Live 2026 takes place at NAEC Stoneleigh in Warwickshire on Sunday 20 and Monday 21 September, with free trade pre-registration available for visitors.

Trade pre-registration is free. For more details, please visit live.cyclingindustry.news.
