The Local Bike Shop Week Awards will recognise cycle retailers across the UK who champion active travel, support cyclists and help keep local high streets thriving. From expert repairs and welcoming new riders to supporting local events and keeping communities moving, the awards shine a light on the bike shops that truly make a difference.

Launching today, bike shops can enter themselves into the awards until Sunday 19th April, entries will then be reviewed and shortlisted by an industry judging panel.

The final stage, a public vote will run from Friday 24th April to Thursday 30th April, with winners announced on Friday 1st May, ahead of Local Bike Shop Week which runs from 3rd to 9th May.

Jonathan Harrison, ACT Director, said: "The Local Bike Shop Week Awards are about recognising the independent retailers who are the backbone of cycling communities across the UK. These shops do far more than sell bikes - they inspire people to get cycling, keep riders safe on the road and create welcoming spaces where everyone from beginners to seasoned cyclists can get expert advice."

Andrew Goodacre, CEO of ACT parent company Bira, and a member of the judging panel, said: "Independent bike shops exemplify everything that makes local retail special. They combine expertise with genuine care for their customers and communities. These awards are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate shops that go the extra mile, and I'm looking forward to seeing entries from across the country."

The Local Bike Shop Week Awards form part of Local Bike Shop Week, an industry-wide initiative managed by the Association of Cycle Traders. Local Bike Shop Week 2026 marks the expansion of what was previously a single-day celebration into a full week of activities showcasing independent cycle retailers.
